The 36 mile Copper River Highway, only accessible via Cordova, is a wonderland of scenic vistas and viewable wildlife. The Sheridan Glacier, while visible from the road, is explored on this tour with a short hike on a well maintained cobbled trail, surrounded by alders & wildflowers. Experienced hikers, looking for a more challenging adventure can traverse to the Lake and Kayak among the Icebergs if you choose our Sheridan Glacier Hike Adventure, with an activity level of Moderate to Very Difficult. On the Copper Delta Hike & Tour you will experience one of the many, well groomed Forest Service Trails, providing 38 miles of hiking opportunities, each offering a different experience of plants, animals, and terrain while giving a glimpse of the spectacular coastal rainforest. Smell wildflowers, taste wild berries, hear the sounds of soaring majestic Bald Eagles calling above a forested canopy, see Trumpeter Swans nesting along the road, or catch a glimpse of bear and moose. Watch wild salmon spawning as you get absorbed into this beautiful wilderness.
Departure is from the Orca Adventure Lodge with an interpretive tour of the Copper River Delta, and a guided hike option.
