Join one of our expert guides for a wildlife viewing adventure focusing on the remote bays of Prince William Sound OR the frequently visited coastline east of the Copper River. While the magnificent Alaskan Brown Bear is oftentimes the coveted prize on these excursions, its important to understand that this is a truly natural wildlife viewing experience, and we see a variety of species on any given day. There are no viewing platforms or bait stations to take away from the excitement of seeing these beautiful animals in their natural habitat, and that's how we like it. These trips are each unique and can be a once in a lifetime opportunity, even for Alaskans.
From mid-June to mid-July our tours focus on the forested salmon streams and remote bays of Prince William Sound which we access via boat. We typically go ashore with cameras ready hoping to get the perfect photo of brown bears feeding on pink and chum salmon in their resident streams. This trip also provides the opportunity for seeing whales, sea otters, sea lions, salmon sharks, and a variety of bird life.
During mid-July and August we shift our focus to the grasslands of the Gulf Coast. Remote, and with limited accessibility, these late season tours offer a change in food source as the bears begin feeding more on wild strawberries that dominate the coastal beaches. Your guide will be able to access a remote beach and get you in best possible position to see the bears. Moose, mountain goats, glaciers, and the beautiful Copper River Delta are also a part of these wildlife adventures.
